"The making of art is an intimate experience for me.  With the first stroke of the brush or flow of the medium, I romance the form and the seduction begins.
Being an intuitive painter/sculptor, I have dialog with my materials, reacting to the movement, shape and color, with the first stroke, letting it lead me to the next.  This allows the image to be free, full of surprises.  It maintains the mystery and the magic of the medium, which has a tantalizing order of its own.
Art is meant for sharing-experiences, beliefs, history-bonding the artist and viewer.  There is much risk involved in the artist's role.  The risk of being vulnerable, exposing one's inner self...at the risk of seeming foolish.  Like love, art contained and controlled loses its heart...its passion.  When it is set free, that is when the romance begins."
I began my art journey as small child.  My blankie was a book of fairy tale illustrations on cloth.  I loved this book and of course it got tattered and torn.  My mother threw it away because as a result and I was devastated.  At the age of 4 I recreated my book with crayons and whatever I could find to draw on.  This was the beginning of drawing on every surface I could find, walls, furniture, table cloths etc.,much to the dismay fo my mother.  Art has been my main focus the majority of my life.  What a wonderful thing it is to love what you do and call this wonderful mountain area home.
